#GU2015 – VARIOUS ARTISTS – SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT

The classic Dixon edit of “The Wanderer” finally gets a full digital release. Originally released as an ultra-limited 12″ on Philomena [which are now fetching upwards of £200 on Discogs] Glasgow Underground re-issued the classic Dixon edit of Romanthony’s The Wanderer on vinyl last summer and revived this underground classic. Much in the spirit of the original/Prescription Underground “CD #9 Version” [which Michael Mayer puts in his all time great dance records] Dixon delivers a sun-kissed, bass-heavy groove that is pure Panorama Bar house music at its very best.

Lee Webster takes some time out from his work for Hot Creations & Local Talk to deliver a sweet garage bomb. Already released via his Soundcloud, Burnin’ has been brought up to date by Kevin McKay who gets the drum machine out for a beat-heavy re-work.

You Say is london producer Brett Gould’s first piece for GU. Its the kind of driving club groove that sits somewhere between Oliver Dollar and Nic Fanciulli and fits the peak-time Glasgow Underground vibe perfectly.

Ovr Kill are Ross Stenhouse and (one half of Mia Dora) Rob Etherson. Following their much supported release on Kling Klong they’re back in Glasgow with this wonky piece of tech house. Look out for their forthcoming release on Kittball too.

Barrientos is fast becoming a name to watch for filling the playlists of young guns Russ Chimes & Grum as well as entertaining more established djs like Phonique. Following his much played remix for Romanthony he reworks both Visitor and Walker & Royce in typical hypnotic floorfilling style.
