Last summer GU A&R Sam and I started talking to J Paul Getto about doing some music for us. I had just finished a deep, disco influenced track called “What U Want” that Annie Mac was playing and we asked Tony (JPG) to remix it for us. In doing so he went well beyond the call of a remix. He took my original sample source, expanded on it and delivered an absolute barn-stormer of a remix that despite being too late for the promo, smashed the charts and is now getting close to 200K views on Youtube.
I was so excited by what he had done I knew we had to give his work a proper push so we have teamed up, re-recorded the vocals and asked our friends Siege and Alaia & Gallo to remix the results.
