As you probably know, at the end of last year Beatport got a lot more specific about their music genres. For Progressive House that meant out with Hardwell, Nicky Romero et al and in with Sasha, Digweed, Cristoph and Yotto. Beatport’s decision seemed bang on point as it coincided with an upturn in interest we were seeing in tough, trippy, musical house.
Since then GU A&Rs Kevin McKay & Sam Dexter have been sifting through the GU inbox and asking artists we like to contribute to a series of compilations celebrating this new sound. This is the first volume and features; a brilliant, deep journey from Grum, a spacey epic from (the Pete Tong-approved) Dorian Craft alongside arp-filled killers from Still Vor Talent’s Matchy & Bott, Diynamic’s Brigado Crew and a load of other new talent.
