#2118 – DORIAN CRAFT – AFTER ACT

The latest Glasgow Underground is from a GU debutant, 26 year old Cannes/Paris-based DJ Dorian Craft. When not playing for the great and the good @ the likes of Rasputine on the Champs-Élysées, he is hard at work crafting tough’n’trippy remixes for Erik Hagleton or releases on 303 Lovers and Go Deeva.

Its not often we hear someone young who has managed to create a real sound for themselves and even though his music touches on similar themes to the likes of Hot Since 82, Kolsch or Cristoph, Dorian has a definite singularity to his sound.

“After Act” kicks things off and its an absolute weapon. Heavy beats and a driving synth line move things to a glorious, bass breakdown and a killer drop. We can easily hear this in a HS82 or Digweed set next to the likes of OC & Verde.

“Anaca” is my next favourite. Its a bit deeper but a real grower, its moody wandering bassline and loopy organ hook making the perfect groove for teasing people on to the floor.

“Tallyah” finishes things off with a classy piece of Sabb style Ibiza deepness.
