#2113 – DANIEL TRIM – HOME

I don’t know about you but I am loving the new Progressive House section in Beatport. So great to see a section that was previously dominated by the likes of Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Dimitri Vegas/Like Mike now being bossed by Sasha, Jeremy Olander and Yotto. No disrespect to the Big Room guys but for someone who first heard the tough, trippy UK sounds of Fabi Paras and Eagles Pray coined as progressive in 91/92 and had many a Sasha mix tape from that era, things feel much better now.

Someone who will hopefully benefit from this new classification is Daniel Trim; almost all the recent things he’s been sending me have had this slow-burning melodic loveliness that fits right in with Sasha et al. Here are three of the best, buy them all at BEATPORT now:

“Home” – a roller coaster ride through the best chords ever

“Stars” – a bassline jam that plucks your heart-strings in the key of E…

And lastly, “Matter” a bubbling late-night groove that sounds like the Knights of the Jaguar through acid ears.
