#2097 – ADDVIBE – BROTHERS (INCL DAVID KENO, ALAIA & GALLO REMIXES)

Back in ye olde 90s I used to run the Idjut Boys labels for them and occasionally contribute some A&R selections. A Norwegian group called Addvibe was one of my favourite signings and I’ve organised with my Idjut friends to re-issue Addvibe’s 90/00s material. “Brothers” was originally released on the Discfunction label in 2001 with mixes from Mateo & Matos. For this reissue I’ve asked some of my favourite deep house heads to give the originals the once over.

David Keno delivers a swinging funky-ass groove complete with a monster bass-line and killer p-funk chops while Alaia & Gallo (whose cover of “Who Is He (And What Is He To You)?” is my current guilty pleasure) take things deeper with a soulful deep house jam.

The original and Mateo & Matos (or Ma Tea and Ma Toast as they were affectionately known in Glasgow at the time) are included for all the 90s fans. Hope you like ’em!
