“Let It Go” is the latest single from Per Qx. It’s the follow up his Hot Since 82/DJ T/Camelphat supported “Ready 4 This”.
Obviously – given the title and GU’s history – you’re thinking its a cover of the “Frozen” classic done in an epic man-Trance style. But strangely, no. For this one Per goes deep with a beautiful looping vocal house cut. Whodathunkit?! And if you’re looking for a style guide in the crazy Robin Schulz -> Innervisions world that is Deep House 2016, this one sits perfectly alongside the new records from Mat.Joe on Toolroom and Serge Devant on Crosstown Rebels.
Remixes come from tech-house don Jaceo (who delivers his usual irresistible bouncy groove) and – my own fave – Glasgow’s own Illyus & Barrientos who take Per’s original on a tough 2am-in-the-Sub-Club style body-jacker.
