We’ve been a fan of Sabb for a long time. His own brand of hypnotic and deep-yet-oh-so-powerful house music is exactly the kind of thing that Glasgow Underground is all about.
Most people will know him for his releases on Moon Harbour, Saved & Noir Music or his remixes for Sasha, Hot Since 82 or John Digweed but for us his standout work is the killer mix of Piemont’s “High Top” he did for us earlier in the year. It was an instant success with DJs the world over (#2 most charted record on RA for Feb, 6 weeks in the Tech House 100).
He follows that up with a superb collaboration with Hungarian producer Add2Basket. “Drive Is All I Got” is – quite simply – one of our favourite house records this year. The beat is nothing short of brilliant, propelling the track along like Paperclip People’s “Throw”. The vocal is unusual, slightly bluesy and reminiscent of the kind of thing St. Germain used to produce in the 90s. Altogether “Drive Is All I Got” is the kind of track that’s so good I’ll be able to play hundreds of times and still love it as much as the first.
